NEERGARH/NEERGADDU WATERFALL IN RISHIKESH

Neer Gaddu Waterfall is one of the beautiful sightseeing spot in Rishikesh. This natural waterfall adorns the town by its exquisite picturesque views and beautifully carved rocks. Travelers from all over the world find this place unique and it inherently touches their soul. Artists spend whole day in painting the best shot on their canvas whereas photographers never stop clicking their camera. It is difficult to picture the whole Neer Gaddu in one visit. Campers take back a wonderful lot of capitulating reminiscences with them and keep talking about this beautiful spot for weeks.

 

Neer Gaddu Waterfall is located about 5-6 Kms away from Tapovan and is about 4 Kms from Laxman Jhula. One has to take the ticket from the ticketing spot for this waterfall and trek down to different points of this waterfall. The cost of the ticket is quite marginal and ranges between Rs.20 to Rs.30.The intimate sound of gurgling water delights the senses and the gush of cool breezes revitalize the energy. The water flowing from natural rocky cliffs tempts the holidaymakers to take a cool dip in the narrow stream. There are two bathing spots at Neer Gaddu which attracts most of the holidaymakers and here one can find people picking steps and corners inside the natural streams.

 

Tourists prefer trekking to waterfall instead of a vehicle trip as no one wants to miss the nature around the walkway. The scenic beauty of white water naturally falling from big rocks into the narrow river stream or the river is just marvelous. Jungle campers can take a short cut to reach the spot and the short walk through the jungle to Neer Gaddu is just blissful. There is a short bridge at the second bathing spot from the rocky stairs over the creek which is quite old and looks delightful. Butterflies of different species and colours are seen fluttering around the wild flowers, adding beauty to this wonderful spot.
